#2 - Monochromatic Green

Thanks to all the participants in the Trash to Treasure challenge last week. There were lots of interesting items transformed into some fabulous vintage creations.

The challenge this week at Sugar Creek Hollow is MONOCHROMATIC GREEN and you can make any green card or other paper-crafted project you wish but it must be done in a vintage, shabby chic or primitive style. Some of you may want to make something for St. Patrick's Day but it is not a requirement. However, whatever you do create, your papers, embellishments, etc. must be primarily green but any shade of green is just fine.

We will choose one random winner, who will receive a digi of our choice and a winner's badge to display. The Design Team will choose their Top Pick and that creator will receive a badge to display and will be in the running for a monthly Guest Designer spot to be chosen by the Design Team after all the Top Picks for the month have been chosen.

Our designers are happy to come and visit your blogs to comment on your creations so please ensure that your entry fits the challenge theme, follows the rules (including no back-linking) and that you have the comment verification turned off. Nothing is more disappointing to see a fabulous creation only to discover that it isn't eligible. We always feel so badly for the participants when this happens.

We are joined by another wonderful Guest Designer this week, Debbie Marcinkiewicz, and she and the rest of the team have created some fabulous green projects for your inspiration. To get all the details, just click on their names.

Winners - Inspired By A Photo

The creations were fabulous last week and I am happy that you could all play with us. I do want to remind you to read the rules and the challenge post carefully so you don't miss any necessary requirements. For example, this week you need to show a photo in your blog post of the trash item you use in your Trash to Treasure project.

Now, on to the winners:

The random winner of a digi of our choice and a winner's badge to display on her blog is FLISS.

The Design Team has chosen this blue beauty by AMELIA as the last February Card of the Week. Amelia will also receive a badge to display on her blog and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.

Congratulations ladies and please email Cec to claim your prizes.

#1 - Trash to Treasure

Welcome to the first challenge of the new Sugar Creek Hollow called TRASH TO TREASURE. This week we want you to take something that would normally be headed for your garbage can or your recycling bin and transform it into a vintage, shabby chic or primitive treasure. We also hope that you will make use of your scraps in this challenge but that shouldn't be considered your trash item.

When the Design Team come to visit your blog they will need to see a photo of your trash item along with the finished project so they can say "Wow, that started out as that!" Besides, the "before" photo is the only way they will know if your entry is eligible.

This week one random winner will receive a digi of our choice and a winner's badge to display on their blog. The Design Team will choose a Top Pick and the creator of that project will also receive a winner's badge and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.

We have a Guest Designer joining us this week, chosen from the December Top Picks, Sheri Willshire. Sheri and the rest of the Design Team have created some wonderful Trash to Treasure items for your inspiration. Check out their blogs so you see how they made their transformation.

We Have Changes To Announce

Today we are announcing some changes here at Sugar Creek Hollow.

Tracy Vinson, who is the creator of Sugar Creek Hollow is leaving the Design Team and giving up ownership of the challenge blog to concentrate on an exciting new business venture that she has launched. There are some great things happening for Tracy right now so she is going to break away from crafting for a while and enjoy this next chapter in her life.

We are certainly going to miss her on the Design Team and hope that as time goes on she will be able to find a few minutes to create one of her wonderful vintage cards and share it with us on her blog, Primitive Paper. Maybe she will even find time to enter one of our challenges and she will be most welcome.

Goodbye Tracy and we wish you all the best!

My name is Cec Wintonyk and I would like to introduce myself as the new owner of Sugar Creek Hollow. I am on the Design Team and for over a year now, I have been doing the blog postings and helping Tracy to manage the Design Team. When Tracy decided to concentrate on her new business she kindly offered ownership of Sugar Creek Hollow to me and I was excited to accept.

You will see some changes to the look of the blog and as time goes on I will be adding some new features. I have some great challenges lined up for you and hope to see lots of our wonderful followers participating and showing us their vintage, shabby chic and primitive creations each week.

We are also saying hello to a new Design Team member. Holly Young has participated often in our challenges with her gorgeous vintage creations and has won Card of the Week numerous times. Please welcome her and check out her work here.

Watch for the first challenge under the new ownership this Saturday and be prepared to be blown away with the inspiration our designers have created for you. Let's have fun!
