Winners - #43 - Celebrate Something New

I am sorry for the delay in posting the winners from last week's challenge but my back went out on Thursday and sitting is a little tough.  So better late than never, here are the winners:

The random winner of a digi of our choice and a winner's badge is KARIEN.

The Design Team chose this gorgeous project by FILHARMONICA as their Top Pick.  Filharmonica is a repeat winner and list this win to her other with her winner's badge.  She will also be in the running for a monthly Guest Designer spot.

Congratulations ladies and please email Cec to claim your prizes.

#44 - Winter White

Welcome back to another new challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow.  This week we are calling our challenge WINTER WHITE.  We want you to make vintage or shabby chic cards in white.  You can use a focal image with a bit of colour but everything else must be white.

Once again we will be choosing one random winner who will receive a digi of our choice along with at winner's badge to display. The Design Team will also choose their Top Pick and that creator will receive a winner's badge but will also be in the running for a monthly Guest Designer spot.

Renee has created another great tutorial for you so scroll down or click on the link on the sidebar to see what she is showing you this week.

Check out these wonderful cards that the designers have created for your inspiration.

Tutorial - Paper Rosette

Renee here and welcome to another tutorial.

My tutorial today will be teaching you how to make a rosette.

I've long admired projects that use a rosette on them and finally taught myself how to make them.

It's very easy and I think once you try it you'll want to use them on lots of your projects.

Step 1: Cut a strip of paper 12" x 2".  If you want a decorative edge then start your punch in the center.

Step 2: Cut the entire border

Step 3: Score every 1/4" or every 3/8".  I found those measurements work best and in this case I used 3/8" due to the pattern on my punch.

Step 4: Accordian fold on the score marks.

Step 5: Connect the ends (it will look a little like a cupcake paper) and punch a circle to bind it in the back. Place a glue dot, glue, or hot glue (works really well) on the circle.

Step 6: Fold the rosette flat and adhere the circle to the back.

Step 7: Turn over and use on your project.

To see how I have used this rosette, check out my card in this week's challenge.

#43 - Celebrate Something New

Welcome back to Sugar Creek Hollow and Happy New Year.  I hope you had a wonderful holiday and Santa brought you lots of crafting goodies.  The Design Team had a lovely break and are ready to get back to work with a new challenge called CELEBRATE SOMETHING NEW.  We want you to create vintage or shabby chic cards that reflect either the New Year or perhaps a new home, or new job, or new baby - you get the idea.

Once again we will be choosing one random winner who will receive a digi of our choice along with at winner's badge to display. The Design Team will also choose their Top Pick and that creator will receive a winner's badge but will also be in the running for a monthly Guest Designer spot.

Our designers have created some wonderful inspiration for you so check out the details on their blogs by clicking on their names.
