#50 - Vintage Hats, Shoes & Purses

Patti here filling in this week for Cec, we hope you are having a great trip! Crafting time with friends, how wonderful is that?
We welcome you to Sugar Creek Hollow and another fun challenge - VINTAGE HATS, SHOES & PURSES.  We want to see vintage or shabby chic cards or other paper-crafted projects that feature vintage hats, shoes or purses.  You can focus on one or include two or even three of these items of lady's apparel.

Before we tell you about our prizes, we must say goodbye to Renee Matarese who has been with our Design Team almost since the beginning. Renee has decided to step down to devote more time to family and work commitments. We will miss her and wish her the best. Before she leaves though, Renee has one more tutorial for you so check it out by scrolling down to the preceeding post.

We will choose one random winner who will receive a digi of our choice along with a winner's badge to display. The Design Team will choose their Top Pick and that creator will receive a winner's badge and also be in the running for a monthly Guest Designer spot.

This week we have another wonderful Guest Designer. Brenda Brown is a regular participant in our challenges and brings beautiful work with lots of techniques. Please welcome her and check out her blog.

Our designers have created some wonderful inspiration for you.

Tutorial - Fabric Flowers

Renne here this week and I have another tutorial for you.

I love all those vintage looking flowers that are so popular right now.  In the store they are VERY expensive and not nearly as pretty as what you can create yourself.  I made these flowers using scraps I got out of JoAnn's scrap bin for very little money.

The first step is to cut circles out.  You can use a die but I just free handed it.  I cut 6 of the larger circles and 5 of the smaller. I also cut a piece of felt for my base.

Step 2 is to fold the circles into quarters and hot glue them to the base circle.

When, you have the first layer done you can start on the inner layer.

I finished off the center by scrunching a piece of crocheted lace and adding a brad.

Here is my finished card using the flower.

You will see the finished producr=t on my challenge card this week.
